When Maija’s children were little scouts, she made candles with them. This hobby gradually grew into an occupation, and currently manufactures Candle Workshop skilfully made, hand-painted table candles and shaped candles of the company’s own design.
Maija designs the models for the shaped candles and makes the moulds for them. Maija decorates the table candles herself by painting with hot candle wax. This makes each product unique. As raw material for the candles, Maija uses light-transmitting paraffin, tallow-based stearin and, in the Kide series, olive oil based special stearin which creates a lace-like edge when it burns.
